Biography

Laurits Munch-Petersen attended the acclaimed National Film School of Denmark where he graduated as a Director in 2003. His graduation film “Between Us” won an Oscar, the Honorary Foreign Film Award, as well as 14 international awards, hence becoming the most award-winning graduation film from the school to this date.

Laurits has directed three feature films for the cinema of which his latest “Shadow of a Hero” was nominated for a Bodil (The Danish Film Critics Award). His fourth feature film, an adaptation of Søren Kierkegaard’s “Seducer’s Diary”, is on it’s way and his debut feature film “Ambulance” is currently being turned into a Hollywood-remake. In 2018 he was nominated for a Robert (The Danish Academy Awards) for his film “The Dolphin”.

In addition, Laurits has directed numerous award-winning commercials, documentaries, tv-series. His commercial work includes the “Cannes Silver Lion”-winning “Solar Dummies” for Spies, as well as several other awards for his films ”The Sex, Prawns And Rock’n’Roll Test” for Starmark, the cinema- commercial “Film Guide”, Sundhedsstyrelsen’s “Reklame for Alvor” and his latest masterpiece for “The Child Cancer Foundation”, which won the Danish Ekko Awards 2019 and his latest “Pant Z”-film which is currently revolutionizing the pant systems around the world to clean up plastic from the oceans.
